the archives was created on 9 August 2023 in my childhood room next to the garage. i had just seen this post on tumblr. i'd previously dabbled in html briefly for a high school world history class, but it was too hard and i didn't have a lot of time so i scrapped the idea. but i never forgot about html.
the site had humble beginnings (to say the least).
i had essentially zero coding experience at this point, so the only layouts i knew how to code were 2-columns stolen from w3schools.

this was the beginning of the sidebar, the button wall, AND my flags and all the other widgets.
