Alkaline Trio is my second-favorite Chicago-based rock band (go here to see the first) to ever hit my spotify page. i discovered them through the song I, Pessimist which features Rise Against singer Tim McIlrath on co-lead vocals with Dan Andriano.

Down on my knees but not to pray / Hit so hard across the skull it buckled my leg / They told me I had hell to pay / I came, I came too close to heaven / Had nothing to say for myself / I had to walk away

"I used to set my alarm clock when I was a bike messenger to 6 o'clock in the morning, and when the alarm clock would go off, the first word out of my mouth was always 'Goddamnit!'"

— Matt Skiba

i am of the opinion that there is an Alkaline Trio for everyone. from their more classic pop-punk sounds like Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs to breakup albums like My Shame is True and ballad-heavy records like Crimson.
