what's your favorite band or artist? i could give a list a mile long but right now i've really been getting into Alkaline Trio

what's your favorite album by your favorite artist? The Sufferer and the Witness by Rise Against

is that your favorite album of all time?? if not, which one is? its one of them, but if i had to pick only one it would probably be American Idiot since it's been almost 10 years and i still don't get tired of it

what's your favorite song by your favorite artist? it's tough to pick one, but i think Dirt and Roses is my favorite

is that your favorite song of all time?? if not, which one is? definitely my favorite RA song but my fav of all time might be Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day

what's your favorite genre? nu-metal, it's like the perfect mix of metal and punk with djs. what more could you need?

do you prefer listening to albums or playlists?i think they both serve their own purpose. i like finding songs with lyrics that have similar themes, in my interpretation, and i think playlists are great for that. but albums are like a playlist 100% created by the artist, so i find a lot of joy in listening to them and experienceing the album as the band wanted.

do you use spotify, yt music, itunes or something else? i use a cracked version of spotify so i don't have to pay for premium

name an underrated band and an overrated band! underrated: Sweet Water, an old 90s (pop-)punk band from Seattle that basically has stayed as local legends for their entire existence. overrated: deftones, radiohead, marilyn manson, godsmack (don't @ me)

name an underrated album and an overrated album!! underrated: The Science of Things by Bush. overrated: Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols by The Sex Pistols (just listen to The Clash, at least they aren't total fucking posers)

name an underrated song and an overrated song!!

what's your most guilty pleasure song? i unironically listened to The Drug in Me is You by Falling in Reverse although i haven't listened to it in a minute because Ronnie Radke is a fucking prick

what instruments do you play? guitar, although i used to play clarinet back in middle school. honestly i should pick it up again.

if you were in a band, what would you name it? i have a couple name ideas. i like Sound Check but it feels too cute, like the name of a rock band from a DCOM. i also like Turn on Red as a pop-punk/punk band, and Coal Mine Canaries as a more grungy/alt-metal band.

what's your favorite band name? (not your favorite band's name, your favorite name a band has) Knocked Loose has such a punchy name to it and the imagery it can bring is so fucking cool, easily one of my favorites

what band/artist have you been listening to the longest? Slipknot by a long shot. been listening since i was 13 and even though i don't listen to them as often anymore, they're still an integral part of each of my playlists.

what's the newest band/artist you started listening to? Alkaline Trio

what's the reason you usually start listening to a new band/artist? (e.g friends suggest them, a song of theirs trends, etc) features on other songs is a big one. like i started listening to Alkaline Trio because Tim McIlrath did a feature on the song I, Pessimist. other than that, local shows is another big one. that's how i found out about The Hobby and Sunbather Die (both incredible bands). and honestly, i know a lot of people will call me a poser for this, but tiktok/instagram reels is a great way to find bands/songs. that's how i started listening to sundogs and Moon Walker

be honest, have you ever started listening to a band because a member of it was hot? the real question is what band haven't i done this with

what's a band/artist you didn't like at first but you like now? Nickelback, and i blame the internet for that one

what's a band/artist you used to like but don't anymore? it's not that i don't like them but Slipknot's last album was kind of mediocre and a lot of the decisions the band has made (kicking certain members out) and its kinda left me with a sour taste in my mouth

what band/artist do you think has the coolest aesthetic/style? anything nu-metal, but especially a band like Static-X (rip wayne)

how many concerts have you gone to? 28

what's your favorite concert you've gone to? a tie between Rise Against's 2024 Tour and the Green Day Hella Mega Tour

if you could go to a concert of any band/artist ever, which would you choose? i wish i could seen Pearl Jam but every time i try and see them something comes up >:(

do you care more about lyrics or sound? lyrics by a lot. a lot of my favorite bands (Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Green Day, a lot of 90s grunge bands) are amazing lyricists. and, me being a big old poetry nerd, eat that shit up. obviously the music matters too. but i can be more forgiving of a lacking sound than a lacking message.

would you listen to a band with a bad singer if every other member was amazing? i already do, it's called Falling in Reverse

favorite game soundtrack? the minecraft OST from the ps3 version (think Subwoofer Lullaby)

favorite movie soundtrack? the Shrek soundtrack has so many 2000s bangers on it (I'm a Believer, Accidentally in Love, etc.) but I also love the soundtrack for Over the Hedge. all done by Ben Folds and it even has a cover of a Clash song-- Lost in the Supermarket

are you active in the fanbase for any bands/artists? a lot of them, although the less mainstream ones are less of a fanbase and more of me screaming into the void

do you ever zone out and imagine epic amvs/edits to a song ur listening to? of course

have you ever talked about a band/artist so much all your friends started associating anything to do with that band or artist with you? im one of the only friends in my group that listens to mostly alternative music (my other friend does too but its more MCR and other more emo stuff) so everyone associates me with metal and punk in general.

what band/artist gets too much hate? NICKELBACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what band/artist doesnt get enough hate? GODSMACK !!!!!!!!

do you have any songs so strongly associated with something/someone that you cant think of anythign else when you listen to it? my mom used to play me I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith to me when i was a baby, so i always associate it with her. which is kinda bittersweet.

how many band tees do you own? (bonus for you emos: how many of them are black?) 36 --40 if you count hoodies-- and id say 80% are black

do you collect vinyls or cds?both :3 although vinyls are way more expensive so i usually collect CDs

do you own any band merch apart from tees, vinyls or cds? i have some setlists, a poster, some stickers, and a guitar pick from the guitarist of Sweet Water

what's a band/artist that you like that youve never met anyone else who's a fan of it? SWEET WATER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what are you listening to right now? a JCS video

whos ur musician celebrity crush? Gavin Rossdale, Benjamin Burnley, Joe Strummer, Zack de la Rocha

do you watch recordings of live performances? usually the ones i couldnt have ever gone to (early 90s grunge, Linkin Park w/Chester, etc.)

have you ever purposefully tried to look like a musician you liked? (eg dyeing ur hair like theirs, copying their style, etv) when i was really into Alice in Chain i wanted to get an exact replica of his skull tattoo on the same place he had it which is... certainly a choice

have you ever been compared to any musicians? if you have, do you see it or not?i wish :(

have you ever had a music related username on any site? no cause i use the same username for everything

favorite lyrics of all time? And if strength is born from heartbreak / Then mountains I could move / And if walls could speak I'd pray / That they would tell me what to do

favorite album cover? i'm a huge fan of the artwork for the NIN single Sin

have you ever listened to an album just because the title or album cover looked cool? not from an artist i don't know, but if i know the artist ive definitely been swayed by a pretty cover

favorite song title? (not title of your favorite song, favorite title a song has) i still think Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is one of the most clever and beautiful titles of all time

worst song youve ever heard ? like a song that made you want to claw ur eardrums out and hit every nearby speaker with a sledgehammer until they were shattered to the point of being dust Karma by Jojo Siwa, Flowers by Miley Cirus, Please Stay by Bryan Adams, anything by Imagine Dragons
