if you ask me any questions about whatever new leftist and/or queer discourse going around, this tumblr post will most likely apply. not always, but most likely. but in case you're curious about my thoughts on x, and don't feel like scouring every single social media i own, please read on.

My opinions on...

kink/porn/fetishes/sex in general:

• the issue with hookup culture is not casual sex or sexual promiscuity, the issue with hookup culture is deceit. loveless sex is not inherently exploitative or inferior to traditional alloromantic allosexual relationships.
• the solution to the exploitation of the porn industry is not the complete abolishment of pornography. sex workers deserve respect, a safe way to do their jobs, and a space in feminist discussions.
• asexual advocacy and pro-sex/anti-puritcanical beliefs are not dichotomous.
• pro-kink, pro-fetish, anti-SWERF

subcultures:

• you cannot be a conservative and punk. "conservative punks" are just posers with mohawks. on a similar topic, participating in the subculture and repping the beliefs are infinitely more important than your outward appearance.
• death to aesthetics, long live subcultures

queerness:

• trans men are men. trans women are women. enbies are real. trans men don't owe you masculinity, trans women don't owe you femininity, enbies don't owe you androgyny. trans men, trans women, and enbies should all be allowed to talk about their unique experiences without being seen as an attack on the other.
• trans men often have to deal with misogyny and lesbophobia on top of regular transphobia and homophobia, and deserve spots in feminist discussions (including those around pregnancy, OBGYNs, abortions, misogyny, etc).
• an identity flying "under the radar" in the mainstream is not privilege, it's the result of a lack of activism. being forced back into the closet is not a privilege either.
• enbies are not "women-lite" and should not automatically be included in female spaces. "theyfab" is an enbyphobic term. AFAB and AMAB are useless terms that can be easily replaced, or simply not used when unneeded.
• the use of terms such as pillow princesses, bottoms, twinks, and pegging as "punchlines" is just a subvertive way to be homophobic
• cishets being invited into queer spaces should recognize that they are guests in that space, and it is not meant to cater to them.
• "love is love" is a terrible queer slogan, not only in its exclusion of aromantic people but also in its focus on who the individual loves rather than who they are.
• pro-neopronouns. pro-contradictory labels. pro-kink at pride.

crime and justice:

• the death penalty should not exist, point blank period. it is violent, prone to internal and external bias from the criminal justice system, irreversible, and is not a miracle cure to the trauma and grieving inflicted by violent crime
• fuck cops, fuck ICE

foreign policy & militarism:

• the united states uses terrorism as an excuse to ravage countries overseas, with little regard to civillians or morality (abu ghraib). we shouldn't have been in vietnam, or afghanistan, or iraq.
• fuck israel. free palestine. free sudan. free the congo. fuck the empire of japan and fuck the flag of the rising sun. support hawaiian sovereignty. no more war.

tech, the internet, and internet culture:

• safe online spaces for kids AND online adult-only spaces are both simultaneously being destroyed by the modern capitalistic internet.
• young kids should not have access to a phone but they SHOULD have access to a family computer.
• censoring harsh language, including things like "grape" and "SA," are insulting. be a fucking adult.
• pro-piracy, pro-archivism. save the internet archive. you deserve the right to repair. reduce e-waste, buy refurbished, learn to fix things. fuck planned obsolence. fuck AI. fuck chatGPT. openAI killed Suchir Balaji. the government killed Aaron Swartz.
